Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Bird flu has been confirmed in the capital city of Jharkhand. The development came after more than half a dozen chickens died at Union Minister Arjun Munda's residential complex near Jail Chowk and when samples were sent for laboratory tests.
After the confirmation, the Director of Animal Husbandry instructed to survey the poultry farms located within a km radius of Jail Chowk. In addition, all chickens coming into this circle will be killed. It has also been instructed to maintain surveillance on the 10 km periphery of Jail Chowk. Daily Market, Lalpur Bazar and Ranchi Lake are all located on the outskirts.
During Holi, the demand for meat and fish increases. The Directorate of Animal Husbandry has therefore strengthened surveillance at the district border.
The meeting headed by the Ranchi DC is also expected to plan preventive and remedial measures.
Earlier, cases of bird flu were detected in Bokar.
